Only a two hour flight from the UK, nestled in a corner between Italy, Austria and Croatia, this little country, only 20,000 square km in size (roughly the same as Wales), with a population of only 2 million people, boasts almost 10,000 km of marked paths. It is often called “Europe in miniature” for the glorious variety of its scenery, including fairytale castles, alpine flower meadows, gorges and ravines, high limestone peaks and extensive karst caves. It offers some of the best biking in Europe.
